I had to look this one up

So I sent a short text to my son, asking a question. He replies,

“Chea” and I am like… huh? Is that a typo? Did he hit “send” before finishing his reply?

So I think, wait… let’s ask Mr Google.

Chea 572 up, 164 down

An affirmative response <========================

An exclamation

An agreeing response <==========================

A greeting

A phrase used when parting with someone

Chea, i can pick you up later.

CHEA!!!

Chea, that is a good movie.

Chea, hows it goin.

I’ll see you tomorrow, chea.

sorta like “yeah” with an accent?

Haven’t heard that from my kids yet. Maybe I should surprise them with “chea” the next time they text me a question.

Many of my D’s texts are completely incomprehensible to me.

chyea is common. Never seen it as chea.

But it’s like psh-yeah crammed together and without the “p”. It’s usually sarcastic when said outloud.

I’m one of those weird people that doesn’t use text speech even when texting (usually…). My dad does though. I can’t figure out half of his texts.

D spells it “shyeah.”

Urban dictionary is a parents friend.

When I saw this one “deada…”

had no idea it meant “I’m serious”

I thought it was an insult,
