my ec are excellent, my ranking is almost perfect, my essay is great, being an URM is good(i guess), recommendations are as good as they can be, but my SAT are average(that sucks!!!)

What’s your score on the SAT?

highest i got in one test was 1560 but with my highest score combined i recieved was a 1690

I feel the same way! Everything is pretty good for me except my SAT scores…hate that test. Bah!

How many times did you take it? How did you prep? Maybe you can give it one more shot.

oh i cant give it one more shot cuz I get my college letters this month. I self study with an SAT book my teacher gave me and my mom didnt have the money to put me in a class. And I took it twice. once jr year and one this yr.

well, a few years back a girl got into harvard with a 1080 on the 1600 scale. don’t lose hope in the system.

Well, the girl with the 1080 is certainly a rare exception…probably had rich parents…

actually it was the exact opposite. she was a black girl from compton where a 1080 was an exceptional score.

also, try the ACT.

i did and I got a 26, is that good or normal???

the 26 on your ACT is better than your SAT score. Nationally speaking, it’s a good score. If your looking at Ivy Leagues though, try to get your score to at least a 28.
