i hate SATs

what if your just a really really sucky test taker?? (i.e. you get nervous, sick to ur stomach, headaches, etc.)

if you show you’re academically capable in your GPA, and explain your weakness (if you’ve had some sort of sickness that you can explain) then i think you’ll be fine. i would suggest taking the practice SAT’s at home, just like you would do at the realt testing center, to get used to the idea of testing. after all, it is something you do in school too (like final exams, etc)

you’ll do fine make sure to bring a snake to eat halfway through perferably something with a high sugar content get a good night sleep and dont worry about time constraints, answer what you can in the time you can. and if you have a good record with good standardized’s you can explain a bad SAT away

yes…yes…bring a snake.

errr snack roflmao ahhhh hard to explain that away!

I think the one of the most important things to doing well on any standardized testing (especially the SAT) is adopting a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. If you think saying that you hate it for eternity is going to get you into your prospective college, by all means, do it.

Personally, I am a very very poor test-taker as well. I used to hate it because it’s always SO HARD. But after a while, with some EFFICIENT studying and the RIGHT AMOUNT of practice, I found that SAT questions don’t really require any academic knowledege. You just gotta find the right method and keep an eye out for any althernatives/tricks you could use.

Tips for the test taker:
Be confident in yourself. I would not recommend studying too much. What you should do instead is get used to the structure and layout of the SATs. All it really is is a test that judges how well you take the SATs, not necessarily how good of a mathematician or comprehensive reader you are, and certainly not how intelligent you are. Don’t choke. Get a good night of sleep. Eat a healthy, filling breakfast. Believe in yourself. Be prepared. As terrible of a testtaker I am myself, I never actually memorized lists of words and definitions, or math formulas. Go through a few practice tests so you get a good idea of the type of timing you need, and the types of directions they give. The wording of the questions is sometimes terrible, and you just want to scream for an editor. Get used to it. Notice the answer choices they give. Generally, there is one right answer, one close answer, one opposite answer, one answer you would get by making a stupid mistake, and one ridiculous answer (at least in my experience). Also, notice that the questions get harder with progression.

The SAT is one of those tests for which all that is required to get a great score is to be good test taker. You don’t even have to be intelligent (well, you kinda do…) to do well. So, keep a positive attitude and you’ll do fine.

This test makes me cry for several times.

SAT Reasoning Test is somewhat like an IQ Test. I know a girl who didn’t STUDY AT ALL and scored a ridiculous 2300! For some people who like competitive testing/math olympia, SAT Reasoning is their game; they simply are more natural at taking exams. I always wonder why they called it “Reasoning Test.” I guess it’s not all about your “academic” knowledge or how hard you studied after all.

I hate the SATs too…got a 1940, then got a 1890. ***!!!

snake…

i just laughed at that for about 15 minutes.
