1 So, driving in my car, there is this ad playing for some face cream, that is supposed to drop YEARS, DECADES from a woman’s face. The “husbands” are like “oh she looks ten years younger, she looks like when we got married, its like I am with a younger woman” I want to reach through and smack them old farts

2 the one with all the rabbits with 3 legs, because the fourth was cut off for lucky rabbits feet, so all the bunnies are in rehab, with little casts, and learning to walk again because people’s luck was better with some new insurance

3 pretty much any of the ads for ED (not the college application form type)- whether it be quick acting or time release or whatever, notice how most of the ads look like those old cigarette ads!!!

Oh, puhleezzee! I find the three-legged bunny commercial funny.

We all know that there are people or companies that make and sell rabbit foots, an alleged good luck charm. Sorry - they exist! You can buy or win them at any carnival. I presume something happens with the rest of the rabbit, as there certainly isn’t enough money in rabbit foots to kill a rabbit for their feet only.

The point is that this company is concerned enought to “re-unite” bunnies with their missing foot.

Now seriously, do you really think that the purveyors of rabbit foots only take on foot per bunny?

cgm–I concede there are some decent shows on–Nova, perhaps the History channel (tho we don’t have cable and it relates to my reason for not watching TV much at all…the shows are so slow moving, they show a lot of great pictures and deliver hardly any information in the hour or two they take to watch. I could read half a book on the subject in that time! Guess I’m impatient.)

I used to watch sitcoms in the various glory days of Family Ties, Cheers, & Frazier, but I don’t remember the commercials being especially good then.

love that dvr/tivo we have/ tape the shows zip past the commercials

I LOVE the history channel, just recently they had something on about Star Wars and its connection to literature- whether it was planned or not- it was really interesting

I can’t think of a particular commercial at the moment that I hate, but one I really like is a Baskin Robbins commercial where a grandfather is sitting in a rocker and asks his visibly upset granddaughter what is wrong. She says something to the effect of “Mom said if I got an ‘A’ on my paper we could go to Basking Robbins for a peanut butter shake.” The camera pans to the paper where it shows him changing the ‘F’ to an ‘A’ and we hear him say, “Meet ya in the car!” at which point the camera pans back to where he was sitting and all we see is an empty chair rocking back and forth.

Most of the shows we watch are things we record and watch later. We skip through the majority of commercials, but some are funny. Speaking of good shows on different channels, Planet Earth on Discovery Channel is absolutely beautiful. My hubby and I could watch it for hours. We love it so much, we bought the Blu-ray series and every time we have company over, we all sit and watch in awe.
