I HATE these commercials!

Man, these commercials irk me

1 So, driving in my car, there is this ad playing for some face cream, that is supposed to drop YEARS, DECADES from a woman’s face. The “husbands” are like “oh she looks ten years younger, she looks like when we got married, its like I am with a younger woman” I want to reach through and smack them old farts

2 the one with all the rabbits with 3 legs, because the fourth was cut off for lucky rabbits feet, so all the bunnies are in rehab, with little casts, and learning to walk again because people’s luck was better with some new insurance

3 pretty much any of the ads for ED (not the college application form type)- whether it be quick acting or time release or whatever, notice how most of the ads look like those old cigarette ads!!!

LOL!
The rabbits foot one bothered me too, only I thought they had re-attached the dyed lucky feet onto the rabbits.

ohhh, I thought it was little casts to cover the reattached foot

what a creepy ad

I love the rabbit foot one, with the rabbit swimming in the tank at the end. Vey inventive and funny.

Hey. Everyone is trying to get their own show like the cavemen and the Allstate guy.

Sometimes the commercials are the only thing I laugh at all night. Well, that and “Great Moments From Presidential Speeches”.

curmudgeon: “Great Moments From Presidential Speeches”…the BEST! I laugh out loud every time (even the repeats).

I was eating and there in front of my eyes was a close up of a guy slathering on underarm deodorant. Ewww. No one is interested in seeing that.

I hate those ads where people are in a car and then get hit violently…VW or something like that…I just get disturbed watching things like that.

Atlmom, those VW crash ads are something , aren’t they?

I kinda like the “Smiling Bob” guy in the Enzyte male enhancement commercial. He looks so happy I’m tempted to try the free sample…

Get a DVR. Never watch a commercial again. (Well, almost never.)

I love almost ALL commercials! (almost always better than the shows…) I especially like “connectile dysfunction”.

Don’t watch TV. Never see a commercial again.

(I would, however, make an exception for the Super Bowl ads.) :D

yes, watching the history channel is just a bad thing to do I guess ;)

the bunny one, three legged bunnies who had their legs chopped off? I find it awful and have let the company know

Oh, puhleezzee! I find the three-legged bunny commercial funny.

We all know that there are people or companies that make and sell rabbit foots, an alleged good luck charm. Sorry - they exist! You can buy or win them at any carnival. I presume something happens with the rest of the rabbit, as there certainly isn’t enough money in rabbit foots to kill a rabbit for their feet only.

The point is that this company is concerned enought to “re-unite” bunnies with their missing foot.

Now seriously, do you really think that the purveyors of rabbit foots only take on foot per bunny?

please, I know how they take the bunny feet

I just find the ad really offensive…personal taste

Makes fun, imo, of those people that have really lost their legs and makes fun of disabled people

sorry if you think I am stretching it, but it is just tasteless

and I have never ever had a lucky rabbits foot, found them pointless and cruel

The point of the commerical is that, with the right insurance, you don’t have to rely on luck.

cgm–I concede there are some decent shows on–Nova, perhaps the History channel (tho we don’t have cable and it relates to my reason for not watching TV much at all…the shows are so slow moving, they show a lot of great pictures and deliver hardly any information in the hour or two they take to watch. I could read half a book on the subject in that time! Guess I’m impatient.)

I used to watch sitcoms in the various glory days of Family Ties, Cheers, & Frazier, but I don’t remember the commercials being especially good then.

love that dvr/tivo we have/ tape the shows zip past the commercials

I LOVE the history channel, just recently they had something on about Star Wars and its connection to literature- whether it was planned or not- it was really interesting

I can’t think of a particular commercial at the moment that I hate, but one I really like is a Baskin Robbins commercial where a grandfather is sitting in a rocker and asks his visibly upset granddaughter what is wrong. She says something to the effect of “Mom said if I got an ‘A’ on my paper we could go to Basking Robbins for a peanut butter shake.” The camera pans to the paper where it shows him changing the ‘F’ to an ‘A’ and we hear him say, “Meet ya in the car!” at which point the camera pans back to where he was sitting and all we see is an empty chair rocking back and forth.

Most of the shows we watch are things we record and watch later. We skip through the majority of commercials, but some are funny. Speaking of good shows on different channels, Planet Earth on Discovery Channel is absolutely beautiful. My hubby and I could watch it for hours. We love it so much, we bought the Blu-ray series and every time we have company over, we all sit and watch in awe.
