I hate to do it..... Chances?

Hey everyone

Can you evaluate my chances for admission to USC next year…

WGPA- 4.0
UGPA-3.81

SAT 1300
sat 1950
no sat IIs

I go to a private school in Arizona that is a huge HUGE feeder school to USC

4 varsity letters
Tons of E.C.s

im assuming my sats are whats going to kill me right?

My Gpa shows an upward trend
frosh-3.7
Soph-4.1
Junior- 4.25

Thanks

Without knowing your EC’s I’d say a reach/slight reach. If you’d elaborate on them it’d give us a much better idea. Good luck.

My inclination is that it is a reach due to the SAT score, but ace everything else and you have a shot.

I think that people are too harsh on this forum, according to the admission stats for the class that entered in fall 2006 the middle 50% of Admitted students scored between 1960 and 2220 for SAT’s so I dont really think your SATs are TOO much of a weakness…

I guess I am trying to defend myself a little bit as well with this post (I scored 1990), but im taking it again in January anyways

ya the stats that PR have and the stats that CC’rs post are usually quitre different

ya pmcharkins…my score is basically the same as yours ( 10 points lower)… but im taking it again in jan too

good luck to us

ya, good luck man, im shootin’ for right around 2100, high goal, but i only need about 40 points in each section

and for Goblue

no offense intended, but i dont think the school you come from really affects admission
id say you have a decent shot though, itll probablly come down to essays and what not

ya im really just trying to get 1400… im fine with writing… but that CR kills me… well my vocab kills me

Right, but most of the people who are below the 25th percentile SAT score have some sort of a hook, or they have a a sky-high GPA with stellar essays and killer E.C’s. In addition to that, admission is becoming more competitive every year; that middle 50% will rise for class of 2011.

i think you have a good chance. good luck
