thankyou- we are psyched- and so glad that the wait for this part is over! I hope to see the list of acceptances get even longer each day now!

And taking a page from Peskemom (who I know is busy arranging some fantastic meet-and-greet for cc posters on I-day)…think we should all wear big yellow ribbons starting on 6/27-6/28 so that we can finally meet in person while waiting here and there for glimpses of the new plebes! I’ll be the “grandma” pushing the puppy stroller around!!

No more waiting for me…
Even with my BGO saying this whole time that i was a “sure in” i got a denial. “#1 candidate in the Chicagoland area” “#1 on Henry Hydes Nomination list.” Guess that doesnt realy matter…Looks like its NROTC to Uof I for me. Apply again next year…

Go Navy–I’m sorry to hear of your news. You have the right attitude though. I thought B&GO were NOT supposed to say anything like “you’re a shoo-in” for that very reason…

GoNavyBeatArmy~with a monkier like that, I have no doubt that you will be a successful candidate for the class of 2011!

I know how hard it is to watch the list of acceptances grow- and not having your name on it- but there is still opportunity, if you want it- so keep the faith and hang in there! Good for you to look positively to next year! It will be here before you know it! (and as tough as the waiting is, it is well worth every minute of it!) Keeping your eye on the goal is key!!!

GoNavyBeatA hey, i was on Hydes list for Air Force. Im so sorry about what happened. UofI for me as well (AFROTC? maybe…) and hope to see you at there!

Keep that determination and Im sure you will do amazing at UofI and have an even more impressive resume (which to be number 1 im sure isimpressive enough!).

I dunno…It’s the 13th and still no sign. I talked to my BGO the other day, and he said the board meets all the way up until June. I really don’t want to wait that long, but I’d rather have good news tomorrow, than bad news today.

I nearly had a heart attack at my mailbox yesterday. When you get mail that’s too big to fit in your box, they put a yellow slip notifying you of your package in there. Well, knowing that the appointment folder is far too big for my box, when I saw the yellow in there my heart skipped a few beats. As I was claiming the package, I don’t think I’ve ever felt my heart beat harder.

Then I saw the attendant carrying a medium sized box…Turns out it was just some Easter goodies from my mom. I later called to thank her…then told her she nearly killed me.

hang in there dmeix… im with ya. I get the cardiac arrest when the phone rings… “no one calls the house phone… except the congressman!” so far that has been proven false time and time again. Good luck to all of those who have yet to hear. Better late than never

Yeah I know how you feel. For a good 6 months I would come home everyday and check all messages, the mail, my AOL account, for just one glimmer of hope. Thankfully, mine came when I didn’t expect it. It was in a brown envelope and my mailman used a rubber band to attach it to the outside of the mailbox. I get chills just thinking about it.

Like they always say, hang in there and try not to think about it every waking moment like we all do.

Still waiting… not a no, but also not a yes either. USAFA sent a letter that said ‘no, unless we find space’. But, nothing yet from USNA. My son has been calling daily, but no one picks up at USNA or at our congressional offices. They said that we would know by the 15th, but nothing yet…

Until they tell you no, there’s still hope. I found out in May, maybe June, I can’t remember but I do know that it was really late in the admissions cycle. Remember, there are still appointees that still haven’t said yey or ney, and they will decide NLT 1 May. Typically, 300 students turn USNA down and others are offered appointments though it doesn’t mean 300 spots will open up as now its rolling admissions. However, spots will open up after May 1st. Best of luck.

I’m going to be admitted in June with a current conditional appointment. The only reason is because they won’t let me in until my official citizenship documentation is faxed in and I won’t be naturalized until June unless there is a delay. (keeping fingers crossed) I guess mine’s a real special exception though, because most will apply as a US citizen.
