I’m afraid that my friend will not get in and she won’t have any safeties. She is so sure that she’s getting in. Is anyone in for sure? What other things do they look for besides good grades?

Mackie, it seems a lot of their decision is weighted on strength of high school schedule and SAT scores. I think if your friend has a 1300 + and good grades with honors and/or AP she may be alright.

I think it may depend on the area you are from as well. For example, my school gets on average 100 people accepted to UGA each year… while many may only have around 20 or 30.

If she is worried about GPA and SAT at worst she will be deferred; therefore she can show everything she has to offer for regular decision.

Post her stats and we may be able to help you.

Her name cannot be Bush…Clinton or Gates. So…perhaps she is knowing this from some supernatural signal? If you are a friend you can only wait and not be too critical IF the thin letter is the one your friend gets. Perhaps your friend has other connections? Otherwise I’d stay out of it.

My friend is Indian and alot of the students at UGA are. Maybe she thinks that will be her advantage. I personally think that that would be a disadvantage.

Apparently your friend isn’t considering what you think…so don’t confuse her with facts. She cannot hear you.

LOL okay. I won’t shatter her dream.
