I have a sore throat, need prescription

I thought the sore throat would go away if I drank a lot of water and ate alot of twix candy bars, but apparently it didn’t.

Will Ashe center give me prescriptions? If so, how would I be able to get one?

it’s getting really bad.

I hope your kidding (at least about the Twix bars). A prescription for what? Perhaps an appointment for an exam and recommendations to start?

prescription for a sore throat?

whats wrong with the ashe center?

ok then, what are your recommendations?

i would go to the ashe website and make an appointment to see a doctor…he/she could probably give you a prescription then

are you absolutely positive?

My recommendation is to see a doctor, let him/her figure out is what’s wrong, and make a reccomendatim based on that. There is no prescription for a “sore throat”. It depends on why it’s sore. FOR EXAMPLE most upper respiratory infections are viral and will last 2 weeks with or without treatment. Adding an unnecessary antibiotic often means treating the yeast infection (if your a girl) that follows. Have you ever had a yeast infection. Gahhh! A “prescription” is not the answer to everything, or even most things, and getting a “prescription” is not the only reason to see a doctor.

P.S. what’s the story with the Twix bars???

P.S.S. I used to wonder why my sore throat wouldn’t so away when I took communion… I mean c’mon, it’s the body of Christ!!

how long have you had it?

for me a sore throat is usually a precursor for a cold or flu or something. theres a lot of OTC meds that can relieve sore throat symptoms. goto CVS/ralphs and browse the medication aisle. you could also talk to the pharmacists for a quick consult.

I had a sore throat last quarter that lasted something like 2 weeks (during finals too -_-), and it was horrible. The only thing I’d recommend is Halls as much as it directs you to consume safely, 'cause it was just utter pain when I coughed.

Yeah I think I have it too. Every time I speak, I’m forced to cough. This has been going on for the past 2.5 weeks. Should I be getting worried?

But whats the lore about the Twix??? I guess I’ll google it…

Zicam and motrin…lots of fluids and rest. You could also rub some dirt in it and walk it off.
Seriously, why assume you need a prescription ?
If you see a doctor, have them do a throat culture. If it is strep or an infection then take the antibiotic. Other wise it is the above advice.

Whatever you decide about seeing a doctor…Tylenol Sore Throat (it’s a thick adult strength liquid–pure tylenol applied directly to the throat) can make it bearable in the meantime.

hahahahahaha

maybe hes a junkie and needs his vicodin fix.

if you want to see a doctor, either do a same day appt starting at midnite, or walk into triage and sit and wait.

but only do that if your sore throat persists past the usual 3 days, otherwise it probably is just a sign of a cold, and you should follow the above advice. the doctor is only needed if you need to figure out why it’s not going away.

try cepacol sore throat lozenges, i think they work a little better than halls, but they’re both lifesavers (and no i don’t mean go try a lifesaver… what’s up with the candy bars…)

what is triage and where?

well its been 3 days…

C’mon… the Twix?!?

P.S. Sorry you don’t fell well but I’m sure you’ll be fine.

triage = first floor of ashe.

you can wait anywhere from 5 minutes to like, an hour…

there’s nothing they can prescribe for you. they can test for strep, if you want, but by the time you get all that done your sore throat may be gone anyway!

it still hurts…

better eat more twix

do i have to go through registration and stuff or can i just walk in there and demand to be checked up

demanding prolly won’t get you too far =P

try making a same-day appt (because it’s now after midnite), that’s better than triage. if you can’t get an appt, walk in and talk to the person at the counter.
