I have been taking IB classes for a semester and now Im transfering to a school that only offers AP. I’ve been thinking about signing up for the following AP tests…
AP Psychology
AP Spanish ( I speak it fluently, should have no problems)
AP English ( not sure… is it too hard… I’ve been taking IB english.
AP Chem? not sure either I got a C in IB chem, but I feel like I know the material.
Has anyone taken this ap tests before? is it too late to start preparing?
any books you would recommend?

bump…

I’m in almost the exact same situation as you. I have been an IB diploma candidate for almost two years, and I want to self-study AP exams in time for May 2010 exams. I will also be doing AP Psych and AP English Lang. I don’t think it’s too late to start preparing, especially if you’ve done IB. Some may disagree with me on this, as there are only three months left, but if you have a determined mindset and a well planned schedule, I think you can get it done, especially since you’ve already done IB Chem, so you won’t have to spent that much time on AP Chem, and since AP Spanish should be a no-brainer for you since you’re fluent. If you feel like you know the material for IB Chem, I think you should do some reflection on why you got the C, and try to prevent that from happening in the future.

As for books, I’ve just spent some time looking at CC’s AP recommended book list thread, and so far many have said that Barron’s is good for AP Psych, so I will be buying that. Many people also said that Cliffs is good for English, as well as lots of practice writing essays. The others I’m not so sure about.
