I have "no chance?" Any advice?

I am graduating high school in 2011

no SATs yet

APs: World History (4),
Biology, Statistics, US History, English Language (this year, no exams taken yet)
Physics, English Lit, Calc BC, Government if offered (senior year)

Grades: Average around 95-97
Class Rank: Not certain, I know I’m in the top ten of about 250

ECs: Wind Ensemble, Drumline, Percussion Ensemble, About to start volunteering at hospital weekly
Expecting National Honor Society

State: New York
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Male

I work my ass off at school, and I think that my record reflects this.
Even so, I always pretend that I won’t even apply so people don’t tell me I won’t make it.

Advice would be much appreciated.

I have the same question (kinda), so I’m just going to attach my information to his posting and hope someone responds.

I don’t really expect to get into an Ivy League school…but im not really sure about what type of school I should be applying to. So I figured, where better to ask then in an Ivy League school thread!

If someone, ANYONE could give me some reccomendations, that would be great. =]

Thanks for your time!

well for the OP, what makes you think you have no chance? you say your grades don’t reflect you hard work but from what you wrote, your grades are solid.

I’m quoting my friends,
and I DO think my grades reflect my work, I phrased that poorly in the OP

I’m just not sure why they’re so sure I can’t make it…
I think I have at least a shot at it.

Are my extra-curriculars too weak?
Do you have any idea what might stand out to someone in charge of admissions?

your fine. just do well on your sats and you will have a good shot.

Thanks so much, I feel more confident
