I Have One EC......

<p>I’m going into 12th Grade. I had all A’s in high school and have a 34 ACT. I seem good to go with my scores, but I had only one EC my whole entire high school years. I’m going to 12th grade so i will probably not be able to join any more sports or clubs without college admission officers thinking that i am joining these things for my app. my ec was washing dishes for a local homeless shelter for two hours everyday afyerschool, rain or shine, school or no school. i did this everyday since around april of ninth grade and i am going to do it again pretty soon. i think i am up to like more than 500 hours in community service because of washing dishes. sure, i like it, but i know it will ruin my app. what do i do?</p>

<p>Depending on how you write it, you could produce a compelling essay on what you learned about yourself and the world by spending 500 hours washing dishes at a shelter. As a result of you’re mentioning it, I myself am curious about why you liked that activity, why you did it so long, and what you got out of the experience. </p>

<p>Most colleges don’t use ECs for admission anyway. This particularly is true of state universities, including those in the top 30.</p>
