Because I am applying to UPenn Early Decision in November so the last test date I have is October. My score is just under 2000 which may be way under Penn’s requirement, however I live almost right next to it and I have applied for the free summer classes there (everyone else outside of the city has to pay) which is very competitive and I got in.

I need some encouraging words so I don’t mess up in October. I need at least a 2150.

Hey OP, I’m new to this site. I just finished freshman year. So I don’t know if I’m quite as credible, but I did take the SAT in 7th grade.

I think that the SAT quite honestly measures how well you studied for the SAT. Of course, you need a basic high school background with math and a developed vocab as well. But I think that 2150 is definitely feasible, especially given that you made it into a prestigious summer program.

SO: I think that you should use the Official SAT Study Guide and review the basic math in it. (Maybe you’ve used this study guide before.) Look at the College Board’s questions (and take the practice tests) to get a feel for the way that they present the test material. That should ease you into the idea of the test and give you a less daunting feel for it. Also, get a basic structure for your essay, so you can easily plug a prompt into it. There are plenty of prompts available in the study guide, too.

Don’t go into it thinking you’ll “mess up.” Remember that you’re smart and that you’ve maintained a great high school career. Be calm and level-headed yet attentive to the questions. Try to write with your best quality on the essay.

Prepare yourself/review a bit (maybe a few minutes a day or a few hours a week) with a good study guide (again, I recommend College Board’s official guide). I think that you have the capability to do wonderfully. If you get yourself prepared, I think the test will run smoothly for you when you sit down to take it.

GOOD LUCK
I hope you achieve the score you want and are accepted to the school(s) you want.

Thank you so much
That helped a lot.

Hey. I got a 1920 first time in January and 1940 second time in March. My Cr went down (590 -.-) but my Math and Writing went up, so my superscore is a 1990. I am planning on taking it one last time in October and I am aiming at a 2150 at least, would this look bad especially for Penn since they are required to see all tests?
