I have SAT 1420, AS levels (taking A levels soon) Maths B, Comp Science C, I have little to no ECs [international, <$70k]

Yeah I know my stats aren’t that good, I can pay $70k yearly, I will be retaking Computer Science, didn’t get IELTS yet, but SAT 1420 (690 English, 730 Maths). I am from Uzbekistan. My major is Computer Science (I will be applying for Comp Science field), which good ranked universities are safety and reach unis for me?

We need more information. I suggest creating a new thread. Select the “chance me / match me” category, and fill out all the information in that template.

Less selective public state universities will work for you.

i am new here, sorry, what kinds of information to be specific?

Follow the instructions I provided:

That template asks for a bunch of information. Just fill that out.

@parentologist had it right. Less selective state universities are your best bet.

With a 1420 and being international, you aren’t getting into any top CS programs and very selective universities will be out of reach. FYI, being international makes all admissions harder and CS is the hardest major to get into at just about any school that admits by major (not all do). You should focus on universities ranked out of the top 50. You can’t just look at a schools average stats and think that because you are similar you can get in. But, with a $70k annual budget you can afford full pay at many state universities which still leaves more options than you need. How to pick which ones depends on what you want.

Go to the Chance Me Match Me forum (link below) then select New Thread and a template will prefill with the information requested. Enter as much as you are able. Feel free to ask questions if you don’t understand anything. Posters understand educational systems outside the US may have different GPA scales, but providing at least an estimate of your class rank (in addition to your GPA) will help to give context. We also understand extracurricular activities are not always stressed or available in the same way as in the US. So don’t worry about those differences and just provide as much information as possible.

Admissions Officers will be familiar with your country and evaluate your application in that context.

What are the odds you’ll get a B in CS if you retake this November?
What’s your 3rd ALevel?
(For the CC community: ALevel B= US A-, ALevelC= US B, so as far as we know this student has a 3.3 gpa currently that can move to a 3.7 depending on November national exams results).
Did you take Integrated science or Physics/Chemistry at IGCSE or OLevel?

Preliminary recommendations
uCincinnati, UMass Lowell (+ apply to Honors college)

Union, Marist (if you get a merit scholarship)

SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Albany

Penn State, specifically checking “Summer” (not Fall&Summer, just Summer) and listing your favorite major from these 3

It doesn’t matter if the A Level subject applies to your major, all subjects’ scores matter.

it is E, so…

Can you switch? An E subject will be a huge problem because your GPA equivalent will be evaluated with all 3 scores and as a result you won’t be eligible for most US colleges.
(4+3.5+1 = less than a B average in US terms).
You need anything you can get A-C in. US colleges won’t care what the subject is.
