I just want to know what you guys think. Thank you in advanced for any responses! I truly appreciate it. I’ve yet to get any feedback.
Here are some facts about me:
*SAT I (breakdown): 1680 (first try) 1790 (second try) 1810 (Superscore) [590R 590M 630W]
*SAT II: 570 Lit, 580 Math Level 1, 560 US History (will be taking Math Level 2 and retaking Math Level 1 & Lit)
*and yes I know how horrible these scores are. An administrator from my school told me that our students score very low on the SATs for some reason and we don’t know why. Perhaps we need to change our curriculum around or something. But I can’t put the blame entirely on my school either.

^ these events are not light either. I have had to plan and coordinate meetings with businesses and stimulate change in my school or community and write 30 page documents in order to gain recognition for some of these events.
[ /list][ b]Subjective:**
[ *] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): DECA (State President), Student Government (Senior Class President), National Honors Society (Vice President), National Art Honors Society (Treasurer), Black Cultural League, Peer Mediator, Peer Transition Leader, Key Club (recently Peer Transition & Key Club combined to form Interact Club but idk), Delta Eta Sigma, & church
[ *] Job/Work Experience:Hostess & Waitress currently, used to be a paid Social Media Marketer for a non profit organization in PA
[ *] Volunteer/Community service: TONS. having leadership in many clubs has given me this opportunity. Basically every holiday is dedicated to giving back. Haven’t kept track but I’ve been doing the same thing 4 years in a row now. My church is also very important to me and we do tons of community service too.
[ *] Summer Activities: taking an online class, attending meetings/camps for DECA, college searching, church, teaching at Vacation Bible School, and working
[ *] Essays: these will be fun…
[ *] Teacher Recommendation: My physics teacher. Even though it’s the hardest class I’ve ever had he is a great teacher and I’ve come to school as early as 5:30am to study for his class 1 on 1 so that’s why I chose him. & then I will ask my English teacher who taught me for 2 years, love her to death even though she was a tough-y too.
[ *] Counselor Rec: we talk all the time, he is amazing.
[ *] Additional Rec:
[ *] Interview:
[ *] Supplementary Material: will probably submit some of my artwork just to add some “unique-ness” to my application. I don’t mean to blow myself up but they are actually very nice pieces and some hang up in my house.
[ /list][ b]Other**
[ *] State (if domestic applicant): NJ
Country (if international applicant): U S A
[ *] School Type: public
[ *] Ethnicity: native american (nanticoke tribe but mom never finished the forms to give me my tribe ID, should we?), hispanic & black
[ *] Gender: F
[ *] Income Bracket(mention if FA candidate): its def <$50000 last time I heard, mom only works part time now so it’s even lower than that. non-custodial parents idk for sure but they do make more.
[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): URM, I have 5 younger sisters so we really don’t have much $ and life can be a little hard (that’s prob more of a downfall than a hook XD), hopefully through my application they look past the numbers and can see where I’m really trying to go in life and ultimately give back to my family and the others who have helped me get to where I am/will be.
[ /list][ b]Reflection**
[ *] Strengths: hmmmmm
[ *] Weaknesses: TEST SCORES, probably class rank if it goes down but I have a feeling I will be in the Top 10 of my class for sure
Just a bit more about me: I love business and marketing. I help small business as a social media marketer but I do so unpaid just because I enjoy seeing the results. I love competing in DECA (a business organization) and am honored to be the president of over 8000 high school students. I love networking.
Having multiple races, I enjoy traveling and cultures too. I am attempting fluency in Spanish just to be able to talk to more people and to also enhance work opportunities in the business world. I love speaking to new people and creating change and impact.
Wish I could go on and on but I don’t want to make this too long either. But I am an interesting human to say the least, just have to make it show in my application.
These are the colleges I will be applying to in a few months. It’s quite diverse. I will probably major in Economics and minor in Spanish, or do something with science and some international studies. Don’t know for sure yet. Def considering double majoring because I like challenging myself too.

My main concern are the ivys, Duke, and Johns Hopkins. What do you guys think? I’m also going to apply to Questbridge. This list is subject to change. I might add a few more ivys but I must admit for the first time in my life I’ve lost confidence in seeing all of these stats of people who get into prestigious colleges. Whoops.
PS thank you thank you thank you if you took the time to read this and give me some honest feedback
