i just noticed i screwed up a few things in my app

Now that the decisions have been made i got denied. Well i went to fill out a transfer app (i graduated early from HS and am taking college courses) and it was auto filling in info from my first app. Well i noticed i had entered my SSN wrong and also my graduation date was a year off. Could that have been the reason for my denial? Because i got deferred the first time and denied the second?

Also is their a minimum credit hours u need to be considered for a transfer?

you should call them. i doubt thats the reason for your denial though.

1.probably not the reason for rejection, haha, bet they didnt even notice.

The university takes a GREAT deal less fresh/soph transfers. To have the best chance you need 60 credits. Some of the college’s at the university even require it. I personally wanted to transfer after my first semester at UW Madison, but had to wait another year and a half for just this reason. You really ought to research the transfer process for your particular college before applying (GPA requirement, credit hour requirement, make sure your classes are all going to transfer using the course applicability system at transfer.org …etc)…just my advice! Best of Luck, whatever you do!

PS: if you’d like to tell me your major i can tell you the credit hour req and GPA req.

either LAS gen ed or
ENGR computer science

ok i found out i got denied because of my C’s throughout hs in math and my 25 on my act but i had retaken my ACT and i got a 31 in math, and i had those scores sent there. If they didnt see those do you think if they do that could change their decision?

I suspect the C’s (over a period of time in multiple math classes, I assume) would have a bigger impact than a one-day ACT test. Even if your original score was a 31… I don’t know; you could ask them.

ENGR Computer Science is a 3.0 college GPA in both technical and general classes. Also, you MUST have 60 credits to enter (unless open closed list says otherwise)

LAS has GPA’s ranging from 2.7-3.2 (with a 3.0 in Math and Computer Science if you’re considering that one later). However, for LAS they have either neglected to publish the 60 credit hours requirement in the 2006 transfer brochure, or it doesn’t exist for that college. The only thing it does say is “those with more than 90 semester hours will be considered on a space-available basis.” So that’s good if you’re considering transferring before you get 60. The requirements change occasionally from year to year, so 2006 may not be accurate anymore (…but it probably is).

Some things to keep in mind: 1.Your ACT score will need to be sent if you attempt to transfer with under 30 credits. Also, your high school transcripts will need to be reviewed for the same reason. Get 60 credits, and they probably won’t ask you for any of that.

GPA requirements are the bottom GPA cutoff. Most times the applicant pool is talented enough that a 3.0 cutoff can be raised to a 3.3 or even higher, it all depends on your competition. That’s also not to say they don’t take students below the cutoff…they do…but it’s exceptionally rare.

MOST IMPORTANT FOR YOU: The only way to be sure your college is accepting applications from students with 12-59 credits is to check the Open/Closed list.

You say you got a 31 in math, but what was the second ACT score overall? If it was much higher than a 25 and they didnt see it or overlooked it, then yeah…that would probably be good grounds for calling them or even appealing. If it’s still 25 that’s probably not high enough.

i ment my math score went from a 25 to a 31 my overall went from a 27 to a 29. i called and it sounds like its not even worth my time appealing
