You need better board scores. I recommend re-taking the ACT and trying the SAT, then submit whichever looks better.
If you improve the ACT substantially (hopefully more than a 30) or do well on the SAT, you would certainly be a competitive applicant. Hard to say more than that.

Yep, try retaking the ACT. If that’s still not good, then try the SAT. I think being really involved in CTD programs helps your chances (even if it’s just a little bit).

you’re in the top 4% lol. and don’t ever ‘ugh’ at a 200 PSAT - some PSAT-takers would murder for those scores :stuck_out_tongue: you have time to gather up NU-potential. like modulation said, maybe some EC work would be nice. and then pick either the SAT or ACT and run with it

Definitely retake your standardized test scores. You won’t fly many places with an 8 on writing, sorry to say that. Everything else looks pretty good, plus Northwestern’s acceptance rate is pretty high.

^ by “pretty high,” UserUnknown means “not as high as some Ivy League schools.”

I disagree with User Unknown, NU’s acceptance rate is not high at all. Out of more than 25000 applicants they might accept 3000. That’s way below what I would consider to be “pretty high”. That’'s a little more than 10 percent.
