Your GPA is a little bit of a concern depending on how competitive your school is, but other than that, you have a very good chance at acceptance. You should not stress at all about your SAT score because it is completely fine; I wouldn’t waste any time or money to even retake it all unless you think you can get 740+ on writing, which will place you into the Stern writing course in your first semester and probably give you an easier time. Also, taking AP calculus and/or statistics will give a much easier time next year, so hopefully you are taking one or both of those.

thanks for the reply. my school or my grade, specifically, is crazy competitive. best class of students in the last four years. im taking calc bc this year, not stat tho. yea i am aiming for a higher writing score specifically because i dont have much time to improve my vocab for cr. is the stern writing course a higher level course? also do i really NEED to ed, or will ed 2 or regular cut it?

GPA is a bit low, but you also have 3 perfect SATIIs and 4 perfect APs. (Are you taking more APs though? You should.)

ED1 accepted like 50% of applicants or something, ED2 only accepted 15% last year. Or something crazy like that. I’d go with ED1 or even regular.

The writing isn’t going to make or break your application, so don’t worry about taking it before you apply. If you do score a 740, you can always submit it to NYU at a later date. (I’ve still yet to send my AP scores…)

thank you for clarifying. i didnt know that the ed 2 rate was that much lower. Shouldn’t it be higher than regular decision at least? im gonna double check that stat.

Yea im not trying to put too much stress on writing. I would be happy, regardless of my writing, with a higher grade on the overall sat subscore next Saturday. whew one week!

also i forgot to add that i interned at a pharm firm and a bank for two weeks each the summer of sophmore year. If that makes a difference at all.
