I know it's early but I need help

Hello,
I’m currently a freshman (very early to post, I know) at very competitive Jesuit high school in Cleveland.
My two brothers went to BC, and it is my dream school.
Due to my poor standardized test taking, i fear I won’t be able to experience BC.
Recently, I received my Plan-pre ACT results and they were terrible.
My grades and EC’s will definitly be up to BC’s level.
Do any of you have any tips on how to help greatly improve my scores by my senior year?
Is there any way the admissions office will understand my poor standardized test taking ability?
Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Yes…chill. It’s not the answer you’re looking for, but seriously, just relax…at least for another year or so. Just work hard in school and get involved – things will come naturally.

Well, I don’t know how this pre-ACT thing works, but I remember I did miserably on my PSATs. You should improve a lot as you go on. If you really doubt your test taking ability, all I can say is practice, practice, PRACTICE! If you want to get in that badly, start practicing now, although it is still very early for you. I remember getting something close to a 180 on my PSATs sophomore year. Junior year I jumped to a 215. So basically, anything can happen as long as you give effort and keep trying to get better. It’s good that you’re starting early, but I wouldn’t kill myself over terrible pre-ACT scores freshman year.

well first thing is to keep up the great grades and gpa. also take a lot of difficult courses!
also you’re still a freshman!! don’t worry, you have tons of time to practice for standardized tests. What I’d really advise you to do is to take the SAT’s as well; you might be better at SAT’s than ACT’s. for the SAT’s, you should sign up for the question of the day thing (it really helps, my psat scores from sophomore year to junior year went up from an equivalent of 600 to 700). so take the SATs/ACTs your junior year and if you don’t do well, you can get a tutor. you have tons of time and you’ll do fine!
