<p>Location: Wichita, Kansas</p>

<p>Class: 2010 (going to be a senior)</p>

<p>GPA: 3.74 Unweighted 3.94 Weighted</p>

<p>AP/Honors: English 9,10,11 Honors, AP US History, Biology Honors, Chemistry Honors, Took Algebra 2 as a freshman. </p>

<p>ACT: 34</p>

<p>EC’s: 3 years football, 2 years tennis, 3 years marching band, 2 years concert band, 1 year Business Professionals of America, 3 years NHS, Boy Scouts (not an Eagle yet), 2 years of Model United Nations, Church Group Leader for 1 year, Newspaper (sports editor).</p>

<p>Plan on doing ROTC so that takes 17,000/year out of the OOS tuition.</p>

<p>Other schools I’m looking at, in order of priority:</p>

<ol>
<li>TCU, University of Texas, Rice, University of Illinois (cold!)</li>
<li>Texas A&M, West Point, Air Force Academy</li>
<li>Baylor, Oklahoma State</li>
<li>Kansas State</li>
</ol>

<p>you are out-of-state and bring geographic diversity, your act score is fine, and its good that you are top 10 percent(weighted rank I think is more important and unweighted rank)…I did read somewhere that 40-60 percent of rice kids are top 5 percent of their classes and class rank is very important…make sure you don’t drop out of top 10 percent…Chances are decent(I think doing ROTC may work in your favor, because students doing ROTC at Rice is very rare)…</p>

<p>I am curious, why isn’t Air Force Academy isn’t your first choice, if ROTC is what you want to do?</p>

<p>For sure get your eagle
if you’re a life scout and close to eagle, put in the extra effort before you are 18
you wont regret it
oh, and you are within range for rice
just work on your essays and make sure you get good rec letters</p>

<p>btw, have you herd of/listen to the bobby bones show on 96.3?
I ask cause i’m living in austin for the summer and intern for the show
i know we are syndicated up in wichita
