I Leave Tomorrow!

Back to India. Six weeks - my usual work with Land for Tillers Freedom - Home - but this time, I am also enrolled in intensive Tamil! six hours a day, five days a week. After 34 years, it’s about time. Of course, you can teach an old dog new tricks…but whether he actually learns them, is another matter entirely. Also still working on providing clean drinking water - Home - we sometimes forget how lucky we have it with our socialized water supply.

Might check in on occasion! (when the electronic gremlins allow…)

DH says “don’t waste your time with Tamil.”

Kidding. But he speaks 5 languages, studied Tamil for about 5 years and decided, it’s unlearnable :)

Have a great trip, mini. Tamil Nadu – all of India – is fascinating. I’m envious.

Only 247 letters in the alphabet. Five-year-olds learn it. The Alphabet Song takes all afternoon.

Best wishes, Mini! Good for you!

Looking forward to seeing your abbreviated version of the alphabet song on YouTube. Have a great trip.

Good luck with the language learning and safe travels!

Mini, thanks for making the world a better place.

Mini, when you come back, you will have plenty of beautiful, red tomatoes in your garden. Have a fun, productive, and safe trip!

Safe travels!

Have a great trip!

If you have time, check out the band ‘Nimbleweed’ on youtube.
The young man who brought us the ‘Biologist Mother’s Day’ song has a great video of a song for India’s Independence Day.

Have a productive and safe trip!

Constantly amazes me as I walk around the neighborhood that there are large populations that do not have a source of safe clean water to DRINK, and here we are dumping huge amounts of this precious commodity on the ground to keep our grass green.

Mini, good luck with all of it.
