I live in Palo Alto.

Hi, I’m Zach!!

I’m a 10th grader who lives in Palo Alto. If you didn’t know, this is the city in which Stanford is at. Although if you are on this forum you probably already know that you stanford-obsessed freaks!! jk.

anyway uh, I was just wondering. Not like it’ll be a joy to live right by my parents, but say I did apply to Stanford, would they take into consideration my ‘5 minute drive away’ status?

Like, dang, I drive past stanford every day and I was just there the other day for MUN and a jog with my dad! :P

yeah that’s what I’m wondering thanks.

also um if I have an uncle that went to stanford, does that make me legacy? I’m guessing not, but you never know :P

dont worry about it now
just keep ur grades up and stay involved
of course its not too early to research or anything

geographic location is taken into consideration, although how much we will never know

you would be able to put ur uncle as an alumnus on ur supplement but it doesnt have as much sway (if any) as a parent or grandparent

Look at your high school’s Naviance chart for Stanford.
You will likely find that huge numbers of your classmates are also thinking of Stanford and that a huge percentage of your class will apply.
That said, many local students are admitted. You should know that many admits are faculty/staff children or athletic recruits.
