Last month I lost both my parents in a double homicide when they were shot and killed by my maternal grandfather. Is it a good idea to write about this traumatic moment in my college essay? Thanks.
You made a thread 3 years ago in which you gave out your academic stats, listing SAT scores and 13 AP classes.
Why are you writing your essay 3 years later? I’m suspicious.
I was testing the waters as a freshman, I am now a rising senior.
So you took 13 APs with a 4.41 GPA and got a 2200 on the SAT by the end of your freshman year? You can understand why folks would be reluctant to get drawn in, right? Can you tell us what been going on since then?
I am confused about the title - were you a 17 year old freshman or were you confused about the age?
If you lost you parents to this tragedy, I am sorry for your loss - what a horrible ordeal to have to go through at any age. If you can write about this tragedy as a way to give a glimpse into your life, character, and preparedness for college it could be an appropriate essay.
– if you are using it as a piece of fiction or as a hook to secure a college seat it is problematic and will not end well
@mdcmom @novicemom23kids I believe OP posted made up statistics as a freshman and posted them on here so he would be able to guage where he would be able to go as a senior if he completed those things
Not sure if I understand or agree with why he did it but that may be an explanation
MODERATOR’S NOTE: I’m closing the thread, because the OP was obviously deceptive in at least one of the two threads he/she started.
