CF, your personal shopper would have been able to bypass the madhouse and bring the shoes to you into the fitting room! I was at the mall returning stuff kiddo did not want. Of course, I had to try on some things, lol! The lady in the room next to me sighed how she wanted to get a pair of shoes but did not want to brave the craziness, and the SA sent someone down to fetch a few pairs of shoes and a couple of purses as well!
CF - that looks like what I call a “go-to” piece. It will be a real workhorse in your wardrobe - it will dress up or down, very versatile, you can do a thousand things with it, and you’ll feel great in it. IMO, such “go-to” pieces are worth splurging on. Glad it worked well.
Exactly right, Fang. I vetoed almost everything that the shopper had pulled when I first went into the dressing room, some on the basis of cost, some on style, some on color. When she came back, things were much more on-point and it got better and better each round.
It was pricey, but I look at it this way: My wardrobe at the time was a complete and total bust, and that trip was to start catching me up with what I should have been doing all along. I now have the foundations of the wardrobe I want. I’ll add things on a regular basis, but the framework is in place, and future expeditions will be considerably less expensive (and now that I have a much much clearer idea of the look I want, I can start shopping the sales.
And I agree with PG, a fabulous go-to piece like that jacket is worth spending some money on.
Yes, I’m always willing to spend on great jackets, more so than trendy items or just regular tops or bottoms.
