I messed up on my chance to get an Internship over the summer. What should I do now?

I wanted to get into this summer internship program at IBM through my school, but i was misinformed by friends and teachers and did not realize that the deadline was over.

I can’t find any other internships to do that relates to STEM and have already asked all my other teachers, staff members and others.

What should I do now? I really wanted a chance to get an internship so that I could do something over the summer that relates to my major.

EDIT: i forgot to mention that I’m a high school student

Take MOOCs, see if you can find a way to volunteer in a STEM area, see if you can study for and get some kind of CS certification.

Do you live near a bigger city? Check your local museums. Even if it’s just volunteering, do it.
