Hi everyone. So I graduated high school this year, and committed to attend UT Dallas. However, something happened this summer. I injured my knee, and just had knee surgery. Since I’ll be on crutches for the next 3 months, I went ahead and took a ‘gap’ semester. I’ll begin college next Spring…
When I was a senior, I didn’t apply to UT Austin and deeply regretted it after my decisions came. UT Dallas is a good school for computer science (I’m interested in CS), but I knew I should’ve applied to UT Austin after I got rejected from my top choices. Basically, UT Dallas was my safety school (and the only school that admitted me). So, I’m considering applying to UT Austin during my gap semester. I’d apply for Spring 2017.
I already know that UT CS is a reach for me, but I’m hoping that the knowledgeable people here can help fill me in. Here’re my stats:
-State resident, went to a public school that was once ranked #1 in the state
-3.45 GPA, top 40%
-2100 SAT, 34 ACT
-8 AP classes in total
-EC’s are pretty lackluster. Just some club involvement, really
-70k family income
-male
-half Asian and half Native American. I can’t only put Native American, since my transcript says I’m both.
Replies will be appreciated, thanks
