I Misspelled My name on the Supplement!

Today i sent in my supplement for boston college because they ask that you send it in as soon as you can. So I take a look on my printed copy, and I misspelled my last name… my last name is “osorio”, but it appears as “osori”. Whats worse is I rechecked to make sure I filled everything else right before I submitted, but I just assumed I spelled my name right. Im going to call bc in the morning and see what they can do. Do you guys think its a big deal? Will they be able to fix it? Will screwing up on the most basic part of the application hurt my chances of getting in? Thanks for any help

No, I don’t think it’s a big deal at all. If you’re a qualified candidate, they wouldn’t reject you because of that. :)

It’s probably the “best” error you could have made, because everybody knows that you know how to spell your own name and you’re not illiterate. Relax.

just as a note for anyone else who sees this – form errors are so easy to fix. i made a silly mistake (put down my personal phone number instead of my home phone number – bad idea because i’ve been away from home) and i called up whichever school and they fixed it immediately with no problems. it’s as simple as pulling up your file and re-typing whatever; it’s really no big deal.
:)

yea, they were able to fix it no problem :)
