I need a crash course on bidding on priceline for hotel reservations

Any experienced bidders here? What do I need to know? I would like to end up with a reservation at suite hotel such as Embassy Suites or Homewood Suites. Preference would be for a 2br 2bath unit. Must I accept the price given or is there a time period before committing? Any and all advice would be helpful as I have never done this before. Thanks!

Read [Priceline and Hotwire Forum](http://www.betterbidding.com) for advice.
With priceline, you will be stuck with what they give you.

Try kayak.com for general ideas, then maybe easyclicktravel.com.
Maybe hotwire.
But I don’t think priceline is very good for getting 2 br 2 bath.

Basics here:
[I’ve</a> never used Priceline or Hotwire - Priceline and Hotwire Forum](<a href=“I've never used Priceline or Hotwire - Priceline Coupons, Hotwire Hotels Revealed, Hotel Lists, Bidding Help”>I've never used Priceline or Hotwire - Priceline Coupons, Hotwire Hotels Revealed, Hotel Lists, Bidding Help)
Also, on betterbidding.com, you can look under the city you’ll be going to and see what hotels other people have “won” with priceline.

Where are you looking? For some areas, you can narrow it down pretty well and figure out which hotel you are bidding on for Priceline and in some areas, not so much. You can still usually save a bit with Hotwire and it is often very easy to figure out which hotels are listed there.

I just used Hotwire the other day for a last minute trip to Chicago–it worked really well. The hotel we ended up in was pretty close to what we were expecting and everything we read about it on Hotwire’s reviews were very close to accurate. I do not recall seeing anything about suites on there though–all I saw was stars. It might be worth a try if you can be a little flexible, because we saved a ton of money and still had a great time.

For Hotwire - If you go to Better Bidding forum to the city in which you are interested, you will see posts describing winning bids described by area, stars and amenities. The amenity symbols are important - with them, you can often identify the hotel. If you can’t identify the hotel, then you post a question giving all the details and someone will very often help you ID the hotel.

I’m known as the Priceline Queen at work. No way is priceline (or hotwire) going to work for you with a specific need for not only a suites hotel but a 2 BR one at that. Priceline is awesome if you need a room in a particular geographic area (they show maps of the area you are bidding) but aren’t picky about amenities. I never suggest it to people who absolutely must have an indoor pool for example.
If you need 2 bedrooms you need to bid for 2 rooms.
My favorite FAQ site for newbies is: [Hotels - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - BiddingForTravel.com - Message Board - Yuku](<a href=“Hotels - BiddingForTravel.com”>Hotels - BiddingForTravel.com)
If you could be more specific about when and where, I’m sure we could help.

Stop everything and go to biddingfortravel.com - has saved me thousands and a great community too.

biddingfortravel has saved me thousands as well. Now that I know what to do , I’ll never book a hotel unless I try to Priceline it first.

I’ve successfully used Priceline for hotels several times, and I relied on biddingfortravel. They have great tutorials - be sure to learn how to get free re-bids.
