I need a cure

for procrastination. I have it REALLY REALLY bad. Even if I get A’s on all the assignements I do, it is a terrible strain on my mental health because it’s so nervewracking to do things last minuite. I’d love - for once in my life - to be able to just sit back and relax with my assignement done a week or a few days in advance. It bothers me so much and I’ve had it since forever (I procrastinated when I was in first grade). Also, my parents are not taskmasters and just believe I get what I get and that’s my fault/responsibility. My work is mine. It’s a good idea, but has also allowed this to go unchecked.
Speaking of this - do you think work ethic is nature or nurture? E.g. My friends works her a** off on EVERYTHING, even stupid things which don’t require so much effort. She always gets it done ahead of time and…uch…it bothers me sometimes (like when she makes a list of illustrative sentences to memorize for a vocab tests taht are really easy even if the teacher does require us to write what she calls “illustrative sentences”). Anyways, I guess she is like this partly b/c she wants to buy the maximum amount of insurance she can on all her assignements - so if she crashes there will be a safety net and her crash will probably be a B or C - not a D or E. Her mother has always been breathing down her back ever since I can remember and I knwo that she can be distractable b/c we’ve studied b4 and when I get distracted she gets easily distracted. All that said, is she a case of nature or nurture? Just curious.
Thanks to all who respond!
