i need a definition

does anybody know what is meant by a “history correction”? my financial aid counselor looked over my paper copy of my SAR that i requested from the federal student aid folks and said that this was a “history correction”.

does anybody know what this means? it could not be a regular correction that an FAA or a student would do, so what does it mean???

any FAA’s that belong to this board are encouraged to reply. of course this also goes for the average joes out there as well…

( i tried asking the counselor but she did not know—she must be new i guess…)

p.s. it showed up online as an electronic correction on fafsa on the web so go figure.

Typically, history corrections are ones done by the folks at FAFSA due to an “error” or additional information. Such errors or additional information can include: changes to regulations (which has occurred), updated information from Homeland Security, NSLDS, Selective Service, etc.

ok thanks nikkil!! i guess that i will have to look over my SAR carefully to see what changes have been made.
