ok…i know it’s already may and SIR’s were due like three days ago, but i’m still weirded out by the schools that accepted/rejected me. i got into my first choice (upenn), so i don’t really care about the schools that rejected me, but i just want to know why they rejected me. i’m referring to boston u and northeastern. do you think it could’ve been a possible case of tufts syndrome? what are your thoughts?

Did you spend longer on Penn’s application or demonstrate more interest? That’s all I can think of. Maybe your other schools felt you were overqualified? Congrats on the acceptance to your first choice!

Do not worry about it. Admittedly being accepted at upenn and denied at BU and Northeastern is odd, but who cares. Tufts syndrome sounds good to me.

If you really feel the need to know why, you could always call and ask them about it. They’re the only ones that can give you the real answers.

Personally, I feel the same way you do in wanting to know why my schools gave me the decisions they did, but I don’t really want to ask the question since it would create too awkward a situation for both parties. I’m just going to have to live with the lingering questions for now. Maybe I’ll find out the answers sometime over the next four years in one way or another, but that time is not now.

i sort of felt the same way. i got into dartmouth (where i’ll be headed), unc-ch honors, northwestern, and williams college but got flat out rejected at claremont mckenna college (their letter wasn’t very nice, either). granted, it’s a highly selective school, but i was crushed when i got rejected b/c i thought i was a very solid applicant and as i’m planning on double-majoring in gov’t and econ, cmc was very high up in my list. anyway, then i fell in love w/ dartmouth while at dimensions (their admitted students’ program) so i don’t care anymore.
