i need desperate help for my future

hi im a sophomore, and i recently had a 3.5 gpa during the first semester, and i really need some advice bc i really want to get away from my family after high school. i really want to move to the bay area. if i get a 4.2 this semester, and a 4.5 next year, can i still get in a decent uc school in northern california? ineed other advice about my study habits

UC’s use only 10-11th grades in their GPA calculation. At the end of Junior year, you can calculate your UC GPA and if you are around a 4.0 UC GPA, you have a decent chance at many of the UC’s. UC admissions isn’t only about grades, but test scores/HS course rigor/EC’s and essays. I would run the Net Price calculators (NPC) on the schools of interest, to see if financially you will be able to afford to live away from your family. Will your family contribute anything towards your college expenses?

How do you study now? Do you have friends in your classes that could form a study group? Can you approach your teachers for extra help?
