<p>This book is full of errors and mistakes- the answer key says that the answer is “A”, but then the detailed answer key explanation says “D”.
So which one is correct?? “A” or “D”??</p>

<p>The answer is A. D is just awkard with that pronoun reference (it).</p>

<p>A is wrong. Neither takes a singular pronoun. It should be his, not their. D is better than A, though I find it stylistically lacking.</p>
