I need help making a college/life decision!?

I graduated with class of 2014 with 3.4 GPA and leaderships programs, community involvement, sports, etc. Once college hit, it became really tough for me as a major in biology, pre-med. I went under probation first semester. I retook some science classes again and I thought I was doing well 2nd semester until the finals came, everything collapsed. I go to out-state university. I am currently on suspensions only for the summer and can return fall 2015. Technically 1 year of my college just went down the drain. I tried switching majors 2nd semester but due to my low GPA I am now allowed. I have 2 options now. 1) attend community college back in my hometown with a different major and transfer to bigger university later one. Downside is I signed a lease for my apartment back where college is. It’s $980 per month without utilities and 12 month contract. My father already decided to give 2 months rent free. One of the repliers wanted 3 months rent free instead and rounding it thats $3000 for free Is it best to go back to the college, take GE courses and raise my gpa and transfer back home for 2nd semester at a community college or just go to community college at home and give away 3 months rent free? I need help because I can’t make up my mind and I definitely don’t want to give away $3000 for free just like that, but will it be better for me

not* it’s not “now”
