I’m not looking to score super duper high like almost all of y’all do, I just want at least a 24. That’s all I need for this scholarship/in-state at a school I want to go to. My residual test is in about three weeks. What should I do? I’m currently studying from “The Real ACT Prep” 3rd addition & Kaplans premier 2014 or whatever the name is. Also, I recently just ordered Princeton Review 2013 for ACT. I REALLY need this score. The first time I took it which was a year or so ago, I got a 19. I wasn’t feeling good that day and I had no idea how the ACT was formatted.

Please help me out. Any tips/tricks…anything at this point is helpful.

What is a residual test? I am not familiar with that term.

It sounds like you are on a good course of study. Look over some older posts on this forum for tips/tricks that other high scorers have shared.

Take the time you have left to the test and divide it by 4(determines how long to study each section). Spend 1 hour each day taking a practice test and reviewing the answers with Red Book and/or Barron’s ACT and keep practicing timing.

Thank y’all for your inputs!

A residual test is basically an On-campus test (at the college). It only counts towards that university too; you cannot transfer the scores to another school. The best part about these tests is that you receive the score that same day. 2 days at the latest and it’s also an older version or already tested version of the ACT.

Thanks for responding. Is that like the Compass test?
