My English teacher gave us the 1991 A.P. Literature test for a final this week. One reading in it really intrigued me: it about a traveler who came upon a village nestled in the mountains. All the villagers were very religious and the author critiqued their religiosity and dullness that resulted because of it. The piece was written in what I guess would be considered a “romantic” style. I’d really enjoyed the style and would like to learn the author’s name so I can read some more. I’d really appreciate your help.

I can’t help you, but I’m sure your teacher would be glad to if you ask.

you should just google some main important sentences of the test. there are always those websites that cite quotes from books and its likely to be there.

I tried googling, but I couldn’t remember enough of it. I’ll just bug my teacher after the break is over.
