I need to get out of here

I am a MN resident and have applied to Ut Austin, A&M, ASU, UofA, USC, Cal Poly SLO, Clemson, and Madison WA. Madison, Austin, asu, and AZ have all accepted me. Madison, and the AZ schools are all affordable for me. But, I really want to get out of the midwest and the AZ schools don’t seem very good. The Texas and CA schools along with Clemson SC may be a bit too much w/o any aid. I really want to go to Austin or A&M or Clemson but the cost may stop me. I have received to aid from Austin so far and have no reason to expect aid from the other two. What can i do to get some aid?
btw i sent out my fafsa recently and would not like to consider putting off school a year to gain residency.

Your best bet of getting out of MN ina n affordable way would be to either apply to colleges that have a reciprocity deal with MN, offering MN residents their in-state tuition rates or you could apply to private universities where you’d have a good chance of getting excellent merit aid.

Unfortunately for you, I don’t know of any public universities that guarantee to meet 100% of students’ documented need. Public universities also reserve their best aid for students who are in-state.

In addition, putting off school for a year may not be enough for you to gain residency to go to college out of state. Putting off school for a year could, however, give you a chance to research and apply to out of state colleges where your stats could earn you excellent aid.

You’ve been posting the same thing for months, it really is time to figure this out. Come up with the top amount you want to spend and choose the best school under that number. the AZ schools stink compared to UT and Madison so unless the cost difference is huge I’d drop them.

I really don’t know that UArizona “stinks” compared to UWMadison and UTAustin. And if they do, wouldn’t A&M “stink” compared to them too? What program are you going into? Becuase judging by major is a better way to judge the quality of a big state school. I’ve also heard people speak very favorably of ASU’s Honors Program.

You again? Go to SLO if you get in. I believe it’s still under $20K OOS which is a good deal. Otherwise UT.

I know i’ve been asking stuff a lot but all my plans are falling apart and I don’t know what to do. I am having trouble picking my limit because my parents will probably end up paying a majority of my tuition. They haven’t told me how much they can afford and I don’t want to put an unnecessary burden on them.

I know the “how much can you pay conversation” can be hard, but isn’t it time to have it?
