Please help me guys

I am sorry you were in a war situation. Colleges may be interested in your essays about this.

The first thing you will need to do is clean up your grammar and punctuation. Use capital letters and get rid of words such as “gonna.” This may be how teens talk and text but they reflect poorly in schoolwork.

I don’t know if you will be able to go to a UC, though you will have a shot if you meet the a - g course criteria. There are many good CSUs as well. Some of the LAC’s may give you good scholarships.

Good luck to you!

It may be a better option to go to a community college for two years, then apply to universities. This will give you time to complete the requires prerequisite classes. However, if you are set on going to a 4-year college right away, then their still might be hope. I would UC’s do take essays into account, especially Berkeley from what I’ve heard. Their admissions standards are high, but it’s worth a shot. I think that you should seriously consider community college though. You would likely have a better shot at the school of your choice and you would save money too.

Good luck!

Agree with everything Calla said.

You need to both get into college and figure out how to pay for it.

If you will be taking classes at your local community college this summer, arrange also for meetings at their financial aid office. A counselor there should be able to explain how financial aid works–and a lot of that info will be true for any college experience in the United States. You should especially find out what the ramifications are related to your California residency and citizenship status. There is some aid that may not be accessible to you.

Thank you everyone for helping me
