I know I’m not an English major but a biochemistry major, but I can be their science correspondent eee! I’ll make them more accurate than the BBC!

Do even speak Arabic?

Well it was for the English language section, which has many brilliant writers,

Plus if I have to, learning Arabic will be a cynch (given that I know Hebrew, Chinese, English, French and Malay…and have many Arabic-speaking friends)

I’m also interested in working for Al Jazeera English. They seem to do some of the only really honest reporting in that region - that’s why America hates them so much. I’m helping a reporter for TIMES magazine write a book about international education (I go to highschool in Poland) and she’s sort of become my mentor (I’m looking to major in English and work in publishing/editing/reporting). She told me that majoring in Journalism is a complete waste of time, saying something along the lines of “I have no idea what they can teach in a journalism class.” As long as you get the connections and can write well, I don’t think it makes much difference whether you’re a bio major or an English major. I think the worst thing you could do was be a journalism major - it seems to be sort of scoffed at in the writing world.
