When so I got caught for plagiarizing my friend’s homework during my freshman year, and I received a 0 on that single assignment but didn’t get any other punishments. But on the common app, colleges only ask if you’ve had disciplinary actions that resulted in suspension, expulsion… I mean I plagizarized but never had those consequences mentioned, should I just check “no”?

Yes, just check no.

Yes, check “no.”

Check no - and be grateful that you rcvd no other punishment. You were lucky to have gotten off so lightly - I hope you realize and appreciate that fact. Colleges take plagiarism very seriously.

How about the Harvard supplements? Look at this link:
http://admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/forms/supplement_0910.pdf
It asked for disciplianry actions and voluntary leaves, the description was like" Have you ever incurred serious or repeated disciplinary action, or have you ever been dismissed, suspended or separated from school, or placed on probation, or have you ever been away from school for a period of more than two weeks, including a leave of absence, other
than for school vacations or due to illness?
Does that mean I have to put “yes”? I am grateful, but doesn’t the common app. gives a loophole for the people like me?

Why would you check “yes”? If your only punishment was a zero on one homework assignment, I don’t think that would be considered “serious … disciplinary action”.

Check no, even for Harvard. Your “no” falls well within the guidelines.
