I plan to attend a Master Program in New YORK City

However, I need to know which is better suited for me. Finance or Economics, what I am looking for is good job growth and good pay after graduation. And with the following majors. Are public universities and colleges just as good as a private IVY league school? The reason why i choose public is because it is much cheaper than private, also, it is government funded and accredited, whilst private schools have their own idea of how to teach students. So I feel more comfortable with schools subsidized by the government.

Any thoughts and comments? And which major? Finance or Economics?

I am both good with numbers but am also interested in how things work, and why.

Need help with my decision.

Being subsidized by the government doesn’t mean that the school teaches any sort of party line or orthodoxy. The funding has nothing to do with the curriculum, which is the territory of the faculty.

You do want to be very careful about schools that are for-profit. Those have a greater chance of charging high tuition, delivering low value, and leaving students with debt loads that are hard to repay. At a school like this, the owners may wield the kinds of decisionmaking power that the faculty has in a traditional non-profit school.
