… and consequently do very well in verbal activities both at school and on standardized tests. My math skills, however, are merely proficient (670 on the math section of the SAT. Good, but not outstanding). After reading several books about business and economics (Freakonomics, Liar’s Poker, The Millionare Next Door, Economics in One Simple Lesson, and Search, to name a few) I have decided that I would be very interested in pursuing business/economics/finance as a college major. My question is, will my verbal ability help me to any significant extent in these fields? Or will my lack of math genius end up holding me back?

Also, any recommended majors/professions for a guy with my abilities? (Ultimately I would prefer a job based more on communicating with people (such as a financial advisor) than on intense math skills (like investment banking?)) Money is also important. :)

Thanks.
