I really need your help! Please chance me! (UCLA)

I am an international student, and I’m interested in UCLA’s mathematics/applied science. I just changed my major so that I has only fulfilled about one third of my preparation courses, but I can still finish them all by the end of spring and finish IGETC by the end of summer. In addition, I got a “B” in my second course of Calculus.

GPA: 3.70
Current School: Foothill College

No TAP

p.s. the average admitted GPA of applied science last year is 3.67

And you may give me some advise.

Thanks a lot!!!

an ucla rep told me I need to finish IGETC by end of the spring. you’ll be fine if you complete 60 units by spring.
a B is not gonna kill you, plus mathematics isn’t impacted.
(ps. u need a higher GPA since you are an international student)

try to do some EC.

You will need to finish both the pre-reqs and the IGETC by the end of Spring 2009. Also, it’s pretty known that international students have a tougher time being accepted, but I don’t know to what extent. Try for all A’s and finish all the required classes and you will have a shot. Good luck.

i dont thing itll be a problem… just theres some ppl i know where they had 4.0s but were finishing their prereqs in the spring and were rejected…

If I can finish 60 semester units, then I can finish IGETC by the end of Summer?

krnnoodles: May i know their majors?

From post #3. I believe that this is mandatory in order for you to enter as a junior (which is everyone applying for UCLA and Berkeley).

you are contradicting yourself. “people had a 4.0 and rejected” because they were taking pre-reqs in spring? NO. your friends prbly didn’t finish his/her pre-reqs by spring.

grey_syntactics is right,
even an UCLA rep told me if I don’t finish 60 transferable units, I’ll be automatically rejected. look, not many university reps are that honest but I’m glad he was being straighforward.

The OP is asking if s/he can finish the IGETC in the summer. The answer is no.
