I so I took the SAT IIs for the first time. I took 2 subjects: Math II and Physics. I had 4 weeks for my preparation. For Math and Physics, I used Priceton Review; and I did practice tests too (in official guide).

When the test started, I have noticed that I am running out of time–it was 34 left after the start of the exam but I had only 22 questions answered. So as a result, I couldn’t finish the test on time and I had 20 blanks! This is verybad because I am in Calculus BC(self-study) and Physics C(self-study) and my SAT I math was 760! So I registered for October again.

In physics, I left blank 23 questions and half of answered are wrong, I am sure about that.

What books should I use to “vindicate” myself from this fail, in October?

Barrons.
In the meantime, cancel your scores.

It’s a long process. I will use score choice policy, it’s ok.

You can leave 6-7 blank on Math II and still get 800. After that, each question you skip = -10 points. That said, you maximum score is 650-670. That alone is really bad for Math II. Also there’s a chance you got some wrong, so you may go as low as 600. So maybe it is good to cancel your scores, unless you are sure that the schools you are applying to accept score choice and won’t ask to see all of your tests.

For the next time, get Barron’s Math II book and a graphic calculator. Even though the graphic calc is not really necessary on the real test, it is needed to use the Barron’s book to it’s full potential.

As for the June 4th Math II test - I think it was very poorly balanced, by that I mean that the ratio of time consuming problems and not so much time consuming problems was leaning towards the time consuming side. On the official practice test, I usually finished with 10-15 minutes left, but on the June test, I also fell short on time, I left 8 blank (skipped the last 4 and also skipped another 4 throughout the test).

I had a graphic calc and i used barrons prep book for one week and i skipped 15. hopefully 0 wrong

Bro, I’m sorry to be so brutally honest, but it seems like you need to cancel your scores. Higher-level universities wont even consider this. Hope you do better for October!

Ya dude. Cancel those scores. Get Barron’s SAT II and like a CB previous tests. Barron’s will definately help your scores especially since Barron’s always overprepares you and goes over almost everything on the test. You’re in trouble if you don’t cancel those scores. ROFL I like how the top 7 threads on the SAT II preparation all same my name for last reply.
