I did both football and soccer, I see how it looked confusing. Sorry.

UofI -I’d be going for a business major so I don’t need anything insane.

I’m a junior and taking my first ACT test in Dec. so I can’t give you a solid score. Should I take the test more than twice? I was told to not do that but it was weird and I don’t know if what they said is true.

Take the ACT at least twice, once as a junior and once as a senior. The ACT is based on acquired knowledge, and you’ll have more to offer the older you get. I remember taking the ACT science section and having 1/4 of it deal with an astronomy topic I had just covered in school. That made it so much easier, because Science is one section that is hard to complete on time.

Does your school have Prairie State Exams in April? If so, you’ll be taking the ACT for one day of those exams.

General cutoffs for U of I are around a 26 ACT, although this could be raised with the high influx of students this year and next. Ask your guidance counselor if your school has the Naviance scattergrams available. You’ll be able to see how strict and sudden the cutoffs are for state schools. Since your GPA is on the low side, you’ll really need to work hard to pull it up, and to study for your ACT. Don’t take anything for granted, unless you are another Rashard Mendenhall.
