I got rejected by my Ivies (which I naively thought I had a shot at), waitlisted by a couple reach/matches (one of which I’m pursuing), and into some wonderful schools (NYU, Northwestern, USC). I used to be so nervous about the day my admissions would come; I was paralyzed by the fear that I wouldn’t get into a school that would make me happy. But now that it’s over I’m feeling great. I’m excited because I could get into the Honors program at USC, which gives more of a small college feel on a big campus (the waitlist I’m pursuing is a small LAC). And I get to visit Nortwestern this month for the admitted students events!!

Well I have to admit getting into 3 top schools definitely made the rejections easier. I’m just happy I survived and am emotionally stable (and excited!) at this point.

IM ALIVE!! AND IM ALMOST GRADUATING!! LIFE IS MOVING FORWARD!!

and i just may burn some rejection letters later this week.

Anyone else feel like a survivor?

well-deserved congrats on your accomplishments, and gl on your college selection.

wunder – way to go: focusing on where you DID get in as opposed to where you didn’t. Life doesn’t begin or end with an Ivy admission/rejection. Sometimes kids forget that
Congratulations on your acceptances - you’ve got some great choices to select from.

congratulations & its gr8 that u have such a positive mindset.

i will survive plays in background…

I wish I could have your attitude!

Can I burn my bme (jhu) reject letter with you?

“I wish I could have your attitude!”

me too its good to see happiness
unlike me who is still ‘recovering’ from the ‘dissappointments’

Yes let’s all burn our rejections!! A digital bonfire haha. (roots through gmail inbox)

Well I found another pro for getting rejected: now that I’m not going to one of those big name schools, I will not be defined by my college. I feel like this gives me more freedom. Like if I went to a big name school I might feel more obligated to be the type of student they encourage… or feel down on myself when I’m not a prodigy of some sort. We should start a pro list for getting rejected.

Not as much time spent studying; more time spent experiencing

Most likely cheaper

No reputations.

I know this is kind of weird… but it helps?

I m happ y for those who finally seem to start walking forward. You ll allways find plpaces were you wont be accepted, you cant be liked in every place. For those who finally made it trough the High school I want to tell you to stand up and fight for your goals. Youll be great professionals!!!

Food for thought - just think whatever school you pick, it will be the most likely where you will meet your future mate, and life long friends. And at orientation, mostly likely your future mother-in-law!!! A dean mentioned that at an admitted student weekend, everyone took a very deep breath after that.

Congratulations on your acceptance and having a great attitude. Your attitude will take your further than any school you will go to.

I feel like a survivor …I am in tenth grade!!! almost eleventh, but no really I feellike a survivor just because I know I am going to do really good in the furture, just because Ibbelieve in it!!!

Believe it you believers!!! you will, going to ';zskop
