I see many people hating on Kaplan and I did too. but recently, i’ve been seeing some surprising results from that book. my friend, who didn’t take worldhistory course, just memorized kaplan satII book and got 800. same thing with UShistory with this different guy. Is it underrated or what?

Kaplan is good at some subjects and not so good at others. The same can be said for Barron’s. Princeton Review is more consistently good at a variety of subjects. You can learn plenty about the prep books by looking at the reviews for each book on Amazon.com

I agree. I’ve found Kaplan to be very effective in the humanities. I haven’t tried it for the sciences, though.

Kaplan is THE BEST for Literature. I took it cold and got a 630 DX Then I took one practice test, got a 750 using the skills and techniques I learned. If I practiced a few more from the Kaplan book, I’m pretty confident I could’ve received an 800. The practice tests are also extremely close to the real SAT II Lit test.

i don´t know about the review books but i looked for sat novels and kaplan is the only company i found had the classics, all the other had modern teenager novels, books you can´t even call books because they read more like some teen magazine -.- very, very annoying… but now i found kaplan, can´t say how much it´ll raise my score tho ^^ lt´s see in january…
