I this enough to get a good SAT score?

This is my first time taking it and I would like to get a 2000 but more realistically I would be okay with anything from a 1700-1900.
I am taking the SAT on January 25, 2014, so I have about 3 weeks of studying left
(I started studying about two weeks ago)

I have been using:

 • The Official SAT Study Guide
 • SAT Prep Black Book
 • Direct Hits Core Vocabulary of the SAT (Volumes 1 & 2)
 • Gruber’s Complete SAT Guide 2014

I got a 154 on my PSAT in 2012

 • Critical Reading: 53
 • Mathematics: 51
 • Writing Skills: 50

I got a 165 on my PSAT in 2013

 • Critical Reading: 51
 • Mathematics: 58
 • Writing Skills: 56

Would I be able to reach my goal based on my PSAT scores and study materials?

just study be consistent. Setup a schedule to do x amount of hrs each day during break(dont waste it). and x amount when school starts. Also look at the sticky in this forum named “everyone read this before…” It has some useful tips, including a condensed form of erica meltzer’s writing prep book.(helped raise my score from 58 to 72; it’s now at 77-80 after some additional practice). Anyway Good luck in your goals :), I’m also taking the jan test and I’ve been studying everyday of winter break so far.

In addition to studying what’s in your books, try to take as many full-length practice tests as you can, and analyze the questions you got wrong and why you got them wrong. I was able to increase my score pretty significantly by doing that. Good luck to you! :)

I got my scores and received a 1710. It’s within my expected range just wish it was higher though. Well, I’m consider all your guys’ tips when I take it again in June. Thank you!
