I had Depression and Epilepsy coming out of high school. I decided to take some gap years but it went longer than i expected. But finally im depression free and i have decided to go back to College. During the years, I had different jobs to make sure i wasnt doing nothing. Do you guys think school will accept me with my long gap years ?
Plenty of people go (or return) to college after many gap years. Many non-traditional college students have had considerable time off of school.
Also, if you’re a woman’s women’s colleges have special programs for returning women.
Lots of college students didn’t begin college until several years after high school (e.g. military veterans).
Good luck!

Yes. I think that taking 5 gap years will not make much difference in your chances in applying to universities. It is possible that there might be one or two classes (such as preparatory math classes) that you might want to retake, but it is also likely that in some ways you will be a better student due to your greater years of experience and maturity.
@gigahyperprime1 - When you start looking at colleges, contact the admissions offices and ask to be put in touch with the person who is responsible for non-traditional age students. That way you will get the advice that you need.
No question that they will accept you. You might want to apply to research universities rather than liberal arts colleges as there will be many more people in the general university community who are your age when you take into account graduate students.
Check into your local Community College and see if they have programs for people who worked and are returning to college. CC may be a good way to ramp yourself up and then you could apply to the State U after two years.
