I visited the campus today

and I loved it! Now that I’ve seen a university that I could potentially go to, it’s really set in for me that I’m going to be applying soon, and I’m really nervous that I might not get in

I have a 4.0 gpa weighted, and a 3.6 unweighted.
I’ve taken 11 honors courses, and next year will be taking 3 AP and two more honors courses.
I have over 100 hours of community service hours.
I haven’t taken the SATs yet, but its coming up in may. I’ve been taking practice tests and I’ve been scoring roughly 1800 on them, so that will need to come up.

What else should I do to improve my chances?

work on your sat and you should be set and if its your number one choice apply early decision

It sounds like you’re a very good candidate.

The average BU score is a high 1900 so you should work on your SAT scores and other than that you should be fine. Write a good essay as well. good luck

I’m pretty excited, now senior year has to come around.

Haha don’t mess up your senior year like I did!
Senioritis bit me in the butt … I’m pretty scared that I might lose my scholarship or even my acceptance, lol…

I’m currently a second semester senior currently and trust me, Senioritis has hit me with full force. Yet I’m doing better than I did even last semester or last year even haha… I’m taking some of the hardest classes also so…
Just focus on your junior year and your SAT scores, I started with like a 1400ish score on my practice tests and went up to 2300s. I ended up getting a 2100 because I screwed up my critical reading section but anyway.
You’re a strong candidate! Good luck :)

Make sure you take 2 SAT II exams. I’d recommend the English and Math, but if there are any AP/Honors subjects that you’re taking now and feel really strong in, take the subject tests for those, too.

But other than that, I don’t think you’d have a problem getting in. My SATs were 1190 w/ just reading and math, 1830 overall, and I got into BU and BC anyway. Extra-currics and strong recommendations from teachers are good to have under your belt, too.

Gormandy thats awesome what you did with your SATs, you’re going to have to tell me what you did :]
Yeah, I’m thinking about taking the Biology SAT II and maybe the Math II SAT II, but I’m awful at math :/

meghan, absolutely. Once you understand it you realize that there’s not much to it.
I’m not that great at math either but I think I got a 760 on my Math II SAT II.
If you want just PM me and we can chat or something and I’d be willing to help you out with any questions etc you might have.
