<p>It’s really nbd. Mostly non-freshman like to sit and watch students who are clearly freshman go out of their way not to step on the M.</p>
<p>I stepped on it and got an A on my first exam. :)</p>
<p>If you actually believe that stepping on the “M” will affect the outcome I think it’s safe to say you had pretty limited chances on that exam to begin with. That said, the curse is undeniably real and your life at Michigan is now destined to be full of heartache and woe. The only advice I can give you is to accept your fate, save yourself a lot of pain and apply for transfer to that agricultural school down in Columbus. There you will be surrounded by an entire campus of like-minded souls perpetually awed and fearful of flashing lights and tall buildings.</p>
